Journal Article · · Energy (Washington, D.C.); (United States)
OSTI ID:6513328
Analysts predict that US consumption of natural gas should remain fairly stable over the next 10 years, fluctuating between 26.9% and 27.3% of total energy consumption. Residential gas use will rise to 5.6 trillion Btu by 2000, while industrial sales will peak at 8.5 trillion Btu in 1991 and dip to 8.0 trillion in 2000. By the end of the century, conventional Lower 48 reserves will be supplying only 58.3% of total annual gas supplies; the rest will come from imports and unconventional sources.
