Multiplicities of charged particles in the forward and backward hemispheres in the c. m. s. in K/sup +/p interactions at 70 GeV/c

Experimental data are presented on the multiplicities of charged particles in the forward and backward hemispheres in the c.m.s. in K/sup +/p interactions at 70 GeV/c. The distributions in n/sub F/ and n/sub B/ obtained after removal of diffraction events are analyzed, and data are presented on the average multiplicities and before and after corrections for incorrect identification of particles. An analysis of correlations between n/sub F/ and n/sub B/ is made in comparison with similar data obtained in ..nu..p interactions, and also with the predictions of the Lund fragmentation model.
