SLAC 32 channel TAC module (Engineering Materials)

Miscellaneous ·
OSTI ID:5689903

The drawings listed on the drawing list provide the data and specifications for constructing a SLAC 32 Channel TAC (Time to Analog Converter) Module. The device consists of a 5 layer single width CAMAC module used in large scale drift chamber experiments for pulse height readout. The system is based upon 32 channels of sample and hold utilizing the START-COMMON STOP method of operation together with an analog multiplexor. It also employs a 32 channel parallel in-serial out shift register to record the individual hit channel information which in turn is used to test the secondary trigger decision logic. The device was used on the SLAC SPEAR MARK III detector.
