This research aimed to provide reliable engineering models and industry guidelines for control of hydrate formation and dissolution under the flow conditions found in subsea pipelines and for removal of diamondoids from pipelines. Experiments on gas hydrates were conducted not in pipelines but under conditions similar to those existing in a pipeline: (1) gas hydrate formation from ice, and (2) gas hydrate formation from a water vapor. The effect of flowing gas on the conditions that can inhibit hydrate formation.
