Solid deposition in hydrocarbon systems: Kinetic data and models. Annual report, January-December 1991

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:7195142
Research is being conducted on the formation of hydrates, waxes, asphaltenes and diamondoids in natural gas. The objective is to study the kinetics of such systems by measuring the rates of formation and dissolution of such solids. These measurements will result in correlations based upon mass and heat transfer in flowing systems. Currently, the apparatus needed for such measurements has been calibrated and a number of experimental measurements have been made including the rates of hydrate formation and the solubility of diamondoids in some gases. Synthesis of diamantane and physical property measurements of adamantane and diamantane have been completed.
