The kinetics of solid deposition and dissolution in natural gas systems, important to the design of processes for prevention of solids deposition and/or removal of solids already deposited, are studied. Pipeline simulators and analytical solutions based on material and energy balances have been developed for both the dissociation of gas hydrates and the dissolution of diamondoid or wax deposits from the walls of a pipeline.
