Method for chlorine in coal

Journal Article · · Annu. Book ASTM Stand.; (United States)
OSTI ID:5604155
The total chlorine in a coal sample is oxidized by combustion and absorbed in alkaline reagents. After absorption in an ammonium carbonate solution, the chlorine is determined by potentiometric titration with AgNO/sub 3/ solution or by a modified Volhard titration using AgNO/sub 3/. The precision of the method is reported to be +- 0.03% chlorine. (BLM)
