P -odd asymmetry in emission of fragments from ternary fission of sup 239 Pu by polarized thermal neutrons

The {ital P}-odd asymmetry coefficient has been measured in emission of fragments from fission of {sup 240}Pu accompanied by a long-range {alpha} particle (ternary fission). The {ital P}-odd asymmetry coefficient was measured simultaneously in the same apparatus for fission into two fragments. The ratio of the {ital P}-odd asymmetry coefficients in ternary and binary fission turned out to be 0.71{plus minus}0.18.
