P-odd asymmetry in neutron emission in fission of /sup 236/U

We have measured the P-odd asymmetry of neutron emission in /sup 236/U fission along and opposite the direction of polarization of the nucleus. Polarized /sup 236/U nuclei were obtained in capture of polarized thermal neutrons. Values of the measured asymmetry are given for four energy intervals of recoil protons in the neutron scintillation detector. The averaged asymmetry is (0.7 +- 0.4)x10/sup -5/. The results are compared with similar results for /sup 240/Pu and also with the P-odd asymmetry of fragment emission/sup 1en-dash3/ in fission of /sup 235/U and /sup 239/Pu by polarized thermal neutrons.
