Magic properties of the sup 146 Gd nucleus and properties of neighboring nuclei

On the basis of the ideas about the magic nature of the {sup 146}Gd nucleus, a systematic theoretical analysis is carried out of a large set of experimental data for a number of even and odd nuclei near {sup 146}Gd. The results indicate that the {sup 146}Gd nucleus possesses all the properties that other magic nuclides have.
