North Sea report. Condensate fields grow in size, numbers

Condensate fields already are providing an appreciable proportion of Norway's gas production, and soon will be the major source of Danish gas. While the UK has many offshore condensate fields, only now are plans being finalized to develop the first of these reservoirs. This work reviews possibilities for future exploitation of North Sea gas-condensate discoveries. In the UK sector, over 20 discoveries contain probable and possible reserves estimated between 16 and 28 TCF of gas and 1.5 and 2.6 billion bbl of liquids. Total proven, probable, and possible reserves offshore Norway are estimated at 63 and 87 TCF of gas and 2.6 to 3.6 billion bbl of liquids in over 10 condensate fields.
