Pipeline safety authorization. Hearing before the Subcommittee on Energy and Power of the Committee on Energy and Commerce, House of Representatives, First Session, April 30, 1987
This hearing included information on the user fee implementation and its effect on pipeline safety, the testing and licensing of pipeline operators and inspectors, the increased use of smart pigs by some pipeline companies, distribution systems with excessive levels of gas losses, and the inspection of carbon dioxide pipelines which at present have no Federal inspection or regulation. Testimony was heard from the director of the Office of Pipeline Safety, representatives from petroleum companies and gas transmission companies, the Department of Transportation, the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America, and two representatives in Congress from the State of Minnesota.
