Transportation of natural and other gas by pipeline transportation of hazardous liquids by pipeline qualification of metallic components

These proposed US Materials Transportation Bureau criteria would allow gas pipeline facilities and interstate and intrastate pipeline facilities used in the transportation of hazardous liquids to use metallic pipeline components (other than pipe) manufactured before April 1, 1970, provided that such components are clean enough to permit adequate inspection, that they are not defective, and that the edition of the document under which they were manufactured has substantially the same test requirements as a later edition for pressure and physical and chemical properties, and standards for welded seams. This proposal would not cause a major economic impact and would eliminate unnecessary costs to the pipeline industry. Comments must be received before April 30, 1980.
