The Nuclear Waste Policy Reform Amendments Act of 1986 (S. 2354) amends the Nuclear Waste Policy Act of 1982 to provide for the disposal of high-level radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel in a single repository and other purposes. The bill limits federal activity and terminates any activity aimed at locating a second repository. It eliminates any crystalline rock site from consideration, and establishes a Waste Repository Review Commission to study and compare the suitability of repositories and technologies.
