The calculation of /sup 187/Os(n,..gamma..) neutron capture cross sections using optical model potentials, giant resonance dipoles, and level density parameters is reported. Exact calculations of statistical level cross sections for /sup 187/Os(n,..gamma..) is also presented. Reanalyses of Maxwellian-averaged capture cross sections of /sup 99/Tc and /sup 95-98/Mo has provided an estimate of s-process abundance ratios which compare well with the few existing stellar measurements. The status of continuing research concerning the measurement of neutron capture cross sections for various isotopes is also given. 19 refs., 1 fig., 5 tabs. (DWL)
