The research reported is in two major areas, nuclear physics and astrophysics. In nuclear, studies in the use of an optical model nuclear potential to describe the experimentally determined scattering matrix, and reduced neutron widths for s/sub 1/2/ resonances in /sup 32/S. In astrophysics, total and capture cross sections for /sup 186/Os, /sup 187/Os, and /sup 188/Os, /sup 22/Ne(n,..gamma..) resonances, and capture cross sections for /sup 148/Sm, /sup 149/Sm, and /sup 150/Sm, were measured.
