Impulse-approximation calculations of the cross section for elastic photoproduction of ..pi../sup 0/ mesons on /sup 9/Be are in satisfactory agreement with the results of recent measurements of the coherent production of ..pi../sup 0/ mesons by photons on that nucleus.
