PG and E's evaluation of wind generation

Conference · · Trans. Am. Nucl. Soc.; (United States)
OSTI ID:5536878
The Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG and E) owns and operates one of the world's largest wind turbines, the MOD-2 in Solano County. In addition, the company purchases the output of the privately owned wind turbines in Altamont Pass. Evaluation shows that wind energy systems are becoming an attractive option for future generations. The performance of the PG and E MOD-2 wind turbine is discussed, as well as that of the privately owned wind farms in Altamont Pass.
