Twenty-two states report legislative, judicial, and administrative activities relating to oil development. New legislation was enacted in each of the states except Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Montana, Texas, and Utah. There were no court cases in Kentucky, Nebraska, Utah, and Virginia, while decisions in the other states will affect leasing rights, taxes, contracts royalties, and other matters. There were administrative adjustments in each state in compliance with new legislation and court decisions. 378 references. (DCK)
