Zeros of the pp scattering amplitudes. Classification and selection of solutions of phase-shift analyses

The role of the Gersten ambiguities in the formation of the set of solutions of practical phase-shift analyses of elastic pp scattering is demonstrated. New criteria for the selection of solutions, based on certain general features of the distribution of zeros of the amplitudes and on the behavior of the zero trajectories, are proposed.
