Raising the technical standards of plant design for the coking industry

The expansion of the coking industry and the raising of technical design standards are subject to the requirements of the consumer industries. Increased coke demand must be met by setting up additional capacity, i.e., by building new and overhauling (expanding) existing coking plants, in conformity with the following basic principles: the unit size of processing units and equipment must be increased; new processes and apparatus must be introduced; production processes must be intensified; the cost-effectiveness of production must be increased; mechanization and automation must be increased; and means must be devised for improving the health aspects of working conditions, eliminating sources of risk and preventing environmental pollution.
