The US Materials Transportation Bureau has postponed the voluntary compliance date for display of identification numbers on placards and use of the Optional Hazardous Materials Table, following a review of petitions for reconsideration. The rule will become effective on 11/20/80. The Association of American Railroads and Southern Railway Co. petitions are reprinted. A public hearing will be held in Washington, DC, on 7/31/89.
