Solar piping and connections for swimming pool systems

Several factors which effect the sizing of solar swimming pool heaters are considered. These include available pump capacity, length and diameter of collecting pipes and flow rate required for maximum collector performance. The importance of balancing the flow through the collectors to maintain a temperature rise of no more than 10/sup 0/F in each collector is considered. Two basic ways in which solar collectors may be connected to pool chlorination and filtration systems are presented. (SPH)
