Pacific Northwest electric power issues. Hearings before the Subcommittee on Energy and Power of the Committee on Interstate and Foreign Commerce, House of Representatives, Ninety-Fifth Congress, second session on H. R. 13931, September 19, 27; December 11, 13, and 14, 1978
The Subcommittee on Energy and Power met on September 19, 1978, to begin a series of hearings on H.R. 13931 and related bills concerning the future use and development of electric energy in the Pacific Northwest. The legislation is important to the Pacific Northwest, including the public and private utilities, the State and local governments, and the electric consumers of the region. The region faces a serious problem in that future projected resources are unlikely to be adequate to meet projected demand. The text of H.R. 13931 is presented. The hearings continued on September 27 and December 11, 13, and 14, 1978. Testimony was heard from many witnesses, representing 78 organizations. (MCW)
