The Flagstaff community passive solar greenhouse: a step toward community self-reliance

A community solar greenhouse planned for Flagstaff, AZ, will be constructed with a $38,000 grant from the Community Services Administration s Community Food and Nutrition Program. The 115 by 30 ft modified A-frame passive solar greenhouse will incorporate 2000 ft/sup 2/ of south-facing Filon glazing for direct heat gain and water heat storage. Trombe walls and drop-down insulating panels are also included in the design.
