A study of fugitive emissions components (ie, valves, pumps, flanges, etc.) was conducted at a Du Pont Agricultural Products plant. Test procedures were based on CMA's Guidance for Estimating Fugitive Emissions. All accessible components and a fraction of the inaccessible components were screened with a portable flame ionization detector. In addition, a portion of the components, including some that had no detectable emissions, were bagged and emission tested. In this paper emission estimates based on a variety of techniques are compared. The importance of variables, such as component accessibility, are also evaluated.
