Municipal recycling of wastewater

The technological status of municipal wastewater reuse systems is surveyed. Advanced wastewater treatment processes can produce water suitable for potable, agricultural, industrial, or recreational uses. Treatment factors that affect the cost and feasibility of wastewater recycling and reuse are considered. Public acceptance of the wastewater reuse concept is essential for the success of any water reuse scheme. (3 diagrams, 12 references, 4 tables)
