A powerful design technique for computer systems is the use of multiple processors. The system's function is performed by the coordinated activity of more than one processor. When the multiple processors are executing programs concurrently, they are said to be multiprocessing. Many different types of multiprocessor arrangements have been built. An implementation of multiprocessing using coprocessors is described.
