Onshore preparation of Hutton TLP to minimise offshore hookup

The Conoco Hutton TLP achieved first oil production twenty two days after being tethered at its North Sea location. A significant contribution to this offshore hookup record was due to the onshore completion of the deck prior to loadout. This paper describes the countdown to loadout and the work that was necessary to produce an essentially operational facility, prior to the mating of the deck and the hull.
