Cloudy fuels future stalls boiler sales

Fuel use and pollution regulations as well as cost uncertainties have affected the boiler market and kept sales down. Users who must purchase boilers immediately are looking mor models with maximum fuel flexibility. Some are increasing the demand for gas-fired boilers, although manufacturers look on this as a short-term situation. The market has increased for retrofitting new burners on oil-fired boilers to burn other fuels or to increase efficiency. A clear government policy would be helpful to both suppliers and users. interest in fluidized-bed combustors, for example, is waiting for a definite coal-use policy. A directory lists the names and addresses of major boiler and burner suppliers.
