Study of. rho. sup 0 - and f sub 2 -meson production in. pi. sup minus p interactions at 360 GeV/ c

We report the results of a study of inclusive {rho}{sup 0}- and {ital f}{sub 2}-meson production in {pi}{sup {minus}}{ital p} interactions at 360 GeV/{ital c} obtained in the experiment NA27, using the LEBC/EHS set-up at CERN. The production cross sections for {rho}{sup 0}, {ital f}{sub 2}, and {rho}{sup 0}{sub 3} mesons are determined for {ital x}{sub F}{gt}0, {ital x}{sub F}{gt}0.4, and {ital x}{sub F}{gt}0.6, respectively. We present also the distributions in the Feynman variable {ital x}{sub F} and in the square of the transverse momentum {ital p}{sup 2}{sub {ital T}} for inclusive {rho}{sup 0}- and {ital f}{sub 2}-meson production.
