This bill was introduced into the US House of Representatives on May 2, 1991 to amend the Hazardous Liquid Pipeline Safety Act of 1979. This legislation requires the Secretary of Transportation to issue regulations to ensure the safety of underwater hazardous liquid pipelines. In addition, chronic violators of hazardous liquid pipeline regulations will be identified; and inspection, monitoring, and enforcement activities will be enhanced. Key sections of this act address the following: underwater pipeline facilities; enforcement; and grants-in-aid.
