It describes recent trends and developments in energy demand, conservation and efficiency, supply of primary fuels, technology, and R and D. In-depth reviews of the energy policies of Austria, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Ireland, and Japan were made in 1990 and the policies of the other 15 countries are summarized and updated.
