Measurement of the pion form factor in the reaction e/sup +/e/sup -/. --> pi. /sup +/. pi. /sup -/ near production threshold

The pion form factor was measured in the reaction e/sup +/e/sup -/..--> pi../sup +/..pi../sup -/ at the energy values 2E=400 and 440 MeV. The obtained values of the form factor vertical-barF/sub ..pi../(400)vertical-bar/sup 2/=2.04 +- 0.25 and vertical-barF/sub ..pi../(440)vertical-bar/sup 2/=3.87 +- 0.97 agree with the vector dominance model predictions.
