Stress-strain state, seepage strength, stability, and optimization of earth dams

Computer simulation and design scenarios incorporating the stress-strain state, seepage strength, slope stability, and optimization procedures for earth dams intended for Soviet hydroelectric development are described. Stress distribution and soil permeability considerations are used to determine height and thickness parameters. Two-dimensional and three-dimensional simulations are assessed.
