Temperature and density of nuclear matter in CC interactions at p = 4. 2 GeV/c per nucleon

Estimates of temperature and density have been obtained for the nuclear matter produced in inelastic and multinucleon CC interactions at momentum p/A = 4.2 GeV/c. To determine these quantities, data on production of protons have been used. The mean temperature and density values for multinucleon CC collisions are found to be T/sub 0/approx. =180 MeV and rho/rho/sup norm/ = 3.6/sup +1.8//sub -2.2/.
