pi. /sup 0/ meson multiplicity distributions in multinucleon CC interactions at 4. 2 GeV/c per nucleon

We present the results of establishment of distributions of the number of ..pi../sup 0/ mesons on the basis of the distribution of the number of registered ..gamma.. rays for multinucleon CC interactions at momentum 4.2 GeV/c per nucleon. The established distributions of the number of ..pi../sup 0/ mesons are compared with distributions of the number of ..pi../sup -/ mesons for the same interactions. We find that the dispersion of the ..pi../sup 0/-meson multiplicity distribution is larger than the dispersion of the distribution of the number of ..pi../sup -/ mesons. We determine the dependence of the average number of ..pi../sup 0/ mesons on the number of ..pi../sup -/ mesons. Experimental data are compared with calculations according to the cascade model.
