Reducing energy costs in wholesale distribution

Book ·
OSTI ID:5258442
The National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors made an analysis of energy use and costs in the wholesale distribution industry. These results are documented in the form of specific energy cost reduction recommendations. The recommendations were developed from a series of on-site visits to NAW members. An energy audit of each was then conducted by an engineering firm specializing in energy cost reduction. Each specific operation of a wholesale distribution system was examined and a thorough cost/benefit analysis of every possibility for reducing energy costs was conducted. A series of recommendations was then developed based on short payback period, wide range of applicability, and ease of implementation. Twenty-three recommendations are included that could save businesses money each year.
