Business women involved in the utility, advertising, consumer protection, and legal professions discuss the role of women in solving energy problems. Inexpensive energy is acknowledged as a major vehicle in the women's movement, and continued energy supplies are seen as vital to support women's changing lifestyles. Their relationship with utilities, however, has become increasingly critical as the utilities seek higher rates and encourage lower consumption. The utilities are urged to seek more imaginative and less-demeaning ways of communicating with women through the media. Women feel competent to pursue factual information on the energy conservation issues and participate in policy discussions. (DCK)
