The American Gas Association continued its positive outlook for natural gas supplies in a recently published report, Natural Gas for the Coming Winter Heating Season. The report, compiled by the AGA Gas Supply Committee, concludes that on a national average basis, peak month gas deliverability for the 1990-91 winter season should be adequate to meet monthly demand. The forecast for bulk electric system reliability and transmission is not as optimistic as AGA's projections, based on the North American Electric Reliability Council's (NERC's) 1990 Reliability Assessment distributed early this month. Although electric utilities have adequate plans to provide reliable service to customers over the next decade, the NERC report states, the implementation of those plans is threatened by several factors.
