Charmed meson production from the continuum in e{sup +}e{sup {minus}} annihilations around 10.5 GeV (Center-of-mass energy) is discussed. The measurements were made using the CLEO detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring. A measurement of the D{sup +} meson production cross-section in the decay channel D{sup +} {yields} K{sup {minus}}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup +} is made. Resonant and non-resonant contributions to this decay channel are estimated. Branching ratio for D{sup +} {yields} {bar K}{sup *0} {pi}{sup +} is estimated based on the information in the decay channel D{sup +} {yields} K{sup {minus}}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup +}. A measurement of the branching ratios for D{sub 8}{sup +} {yields} {bar K}{sup *0} K{sup +} and D{sub 8}{sup +} {yields} K{sup {minus}}K{sup +}{pi}{sup +} (non-resonant) are made relative to the branching ratio for the channel D{sub 8}{sup +} {yields} {phi}{pi}{sup +}. In the absence of any conclusive evidence, upper limits for the respective branching ratios are set at 90% confidence level.
