Search for strange flavored B mesons and new decay modes of charm mesons
We have searched for B{sub u,d} mesons produced at the {Upsilon}(5S) resonance. The decay modes studied were: B{sup 0} decays into the final states D{sup *{minus}} {pi}{sup +}, J/{Psi}K{sup 0}, J/{Psi}K{sup 0} and J/{Psi}K{sup +}{pi}{sup {minus}}, and B{sup {minus}} decays into the final states D{sup 0}{pi}{sup {minus}} and J/{Psi}K{sup {minus}}. We did not see any statistically significant B{sub u,d} signal at the {Upsilon}(5S) resonance, which yielded the limit for the fraction of strange B mesons produced in {Upsilon}(5S) decays, f{sub s} {>=} 0.26 at the 90% confidence level. We have also searched for B{sup 0}{sub s} mesons, produced at the {Upsilon}(5S) resonance, through their decays into the final states D{sup {minus}}{sub s}{pi}{sup +}, D{sup {minus}}{sub s}{pi}{sup {minus}}{pi}{sup +}, 0 {sup 0}0DK, J/{Psi}{phi} and J/{Psi}K{sup +}K{sup {minus}}. We observed only a small, {approximately}2{sigma}, excess of events above a low background. From this data, we set upper limits on f{sub s} x branching ratios for B{sup 0}{sub s} decays to the final states listed above. In non-resonant e{sup +}e{sup {minus}} annihilation we searched for D{sup +}{sub s} and D{sup +} decays to {phi}{pi}{sup +}, {omega}{pi}{sup +}, {eta}{pi}{sup +}, {eta}`{pi}{sup +} with the subsequent daughter decays: {phi} {yields} K{sup +}K{sup {minus}}, {omega} {yields} {pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup {minus}}{pi}{sup 0}, {eta} {yields} {gamma}{gamma} and {pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup {minus}}{pi}{sup 0}, {eta}` {yields} {eta}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup {minus}} followed by {eta} {yields} {gamma}{gamma} and {eta}` {yields} {rho}{sup 0}{gamma}. The measured branching ratios of D{sup +} decays are presented.
