Study of resonance production in antiproton-proton annihilation into pions at 8. 3 and 13. 0 GeV/c

Results are presented from a high statistics study of antiproton-proton annihilations at 8.3 and 13.0 GeV/c incident beam energy from data collected with the Large Aperture Solenoid Spectrometer (LASS) at SLAC. Four, five, six, and seven pion final states are studied. Resonance production cross sections and resonance masses and widths are presented. In the four pion final state of the 8.3 GeV/c data sample the angular distribution of the decay of rho mesons is studied, and some elements of the density matrix describing that decay are evaluated.
