Associated production of fast fragments emitted backward in nucleus-nucleus interactions

We report a study of the correlation of fast fragments emitted backward and the accompanying ..pi../sup -/ mesons, and also protons knocked out of the target in nucleus-nucleus collisions with initial momentum 4.5 GeV/c per nucleon. The data are analyzed in the framework on the cascade model.
