Experimental determination of the extent of movement of the coke cake from the oven wall during the coking of preheated charges

Journal Article · · Coke Chem. USSR (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
OSTI ID:5205602
Movement of the coke cake away from the walls of the oven when carbonising preheated charges is 18-20% less than when charging moist coals. The beginning and magnitude of the movement of the coke cake depends on the hydraulic composition of the coking charge. Within certain limits this can be regulated by changes in composition and size consist of the charge, and the pretreatment temperature. 4 references
