Energy managers foresee corporate interest shifting from conservation to production investments as the economy improves. If this happens, managers will need to refine existing conservation projects and try new techniques, such as interruptive rates and third-party arrangements for shared-savings financing and for purchasing energy. Cogeneration and fuel conversions will attract most of the available energy-investment capital because of financial incentives. (DCK)
