This document summarizes the research activities within the School of Electrical Engineering of Purdue University. It is intended as a reference document for colleagues, prospective graduate students, and organizations interested in electrical engineering research. The research project summaries are organized according to the eight technical areas into which the Purdue electrical engineering graduate program is divided for administrative purposes. These areas are: automatic controls, bioengineering, circuits and systems, communications, computers and automata, electromagnetic fields and quantum electronics, energy sources and systems, and solid state devices and materials. There is also a section devoted to Engineering Education. The research and educational facilities that are available, the recent publications by the staff, and the external funds that support the activities are described in the Appendices.
