Gauge SU(2) x U(1) models of the weak and electromagnetic interactions, and. mu. e universality

A gauge SU(2) x U(1) model of the weak and electromagnetic interactions is proposed, in which ..mu..e universality is violated in a natural way. It is also shown that the possibility of spontaneous violation of CP invariance exists. The possibility of including the tau lepton in this scheme is discussed.
