A 64-channel pixel readout chip for dynamic x-ray imaging

Conference ·
OSTI ID:513000
A semiconductor hybrid pixel detector for 2D dynamic X-ray imaging has been developed. A new concept with integrated counters in each cell is presented. The aim is to acquire 12-bit images with a maximum speed of about 100 frames per second. The size of the pixel is a trade-off between spatial resolution and amount of implemented logic, and is presently chosen to be 250 {mu}m x 250 {mu}m. The 8x8-channel prototype readout chip is described. Test results from functional tests and measurements with a silicon sensor wirebonded to the chip are presented.
