A study of radiosensitivity of common redbacked voles (Clethrionomys glareolus) revealed that they are among the most radioresistant species of wild rodents (LD/sub 50///sub 30/ is 966 R). A study of the yield of chromosomal aberrations in somatic cells of nonirradiated animals and those exposed to a dose of 200 R radiation established equal radiosensitivity, according to this criterion as well, of vole populations inhabiting different geographic regions of European USSR.
